All it needs is a slight push and you’ll see it go. The lifted tail helps with stability.
Paper Airplane Folding Instructions
1. Fold the top right corner to the left side.
2. Open the paper back up and repeat with the left corner.
3. Open the paper back up and accordion fold both sides into the middle.
4. Next, fold the bottom right corner of the triangle shape up to the top.
5. Repeat with the left corner.
6. Now, fold the bottom right edge of the diamond shape up to the center line.
7. Repeat with the left side.
8. Fold down the top point of the paper airplane.
9. Open up the slots in the top triangle and tuck the corners of the lower pieces inside.
10. Flip the plane over.
11. Fold the right side over, lining up the top and bottom corners. Use a ruler to help make a straight crease.
12. Repeat with the other side.
13. Now fold those pieces back to the outer edges, as shown.
14. Fold the paper plane in half towards you.
15. Fold and tuck the tail inside the airplane.
16. Fold one wing out like this.
17. Finally, repeat with the other side and extend the wings.
This is a reliable design that consistently performs well with long straight flights. It is not necessary to staple or tape the body shut. In fact, it works best if the V shape of the body is a 90 degree angle.
